10 day forecast

I was just checking the 10 day forecast and it hit me, "one of these dates will be my little girl's birthday!" Woo hoo, I'm ready to have this baby. If you read Bob's blog, which you probably do, you've seen that my midwife wanted to induce me soon, as in on Monday. But I talked with her yeseterday and asked to be able to go at least a week over, so I'm scheduled to be induced Thursday morning, December 1st.

What's so funny about this date is that its when Bob always said, half jokingly, that she'd be born. Back when I was getting excited because she dropped early I was thinking maybe she'd be a week and a half early. Well so Bob wouldn't get his hopes up he'd jokingly say "December first" or "She's not coming till December." I would get annoyed because I wanted to be hopeful she'd be early. Well here we are, the day before my due date, and I think it quite possible that Bob was right. We'll have a good Thanksgiving with friends tomorrow, a nice weekend at home (maybe decorating for Christmas!) and then next week she'll come. We'll see. Oh and I'm sure Bob will have it on his blog within at least 24 hours of her being born as his mom wants to see pictures. So keep checking, as I'm sure you all are doing.

I've been meaning to ask why in the stinkin' world your midwife wanted to induce so soon?!??

she's a little antsy about meconium and such for some reason. it is a little surprising, but I guess she leans on the MD side of stuff.

I'm still praying that the baby will be a November baby! Hang in there!

That is pretty weird. I have two midwives (one homebirthing CPM, one hospital delivering CNM) and they are both really relaxed until 41.5 weeks... and then they want to make sure the baby is okay and are willing to go longer. *shrug*

She'll come when she comes, I suppose!

I'm really proud of you for asking her if she is comfortable with letting you wait at least a week. I know that it is hard, but pregnancies are 38 to 42 weeks, and we know a number of women who were induced before they were ready and their bodies did not respond well, so they ended up having a c-section after many hours of labor. You made a tough choice and your patience is really admirable.

Yeah I was surprised at how quick she was to want to induce. She really seems so laid back about everything else. I'm glad I have her as a midwife, even if she's a little quick to want to get things started.

Sember-Thats the biggest reason/fear I have about being induced, that it could lead to a c-section. But hopefully one week over will get me that much closer to when I "would have" gone. Though I'm still hoping I'll have this baby before Thursday morning.
