Can you tongue fold?

Here I am doing my best im-sheep-anation of a little lamb folding its tongue.

Caleb got this lamb as a baptism gift from Grandpa and Grandma Wiegers. On Sunday night my parents, Bob and I were hanging out trying to keep our eyes open because we were all tired from the busy weekend. We had fun doing some madlibs (remember madlibs? they are great!) and were in a wacky mood. I noticed how this lamb is folding its tongue, not something everyone can do, so we all started folding our tongues. Bob pulls out the camera and voila, me trying to im-sheep-anate this lamb's expression. Everytime my dad looked at the picture he would laugh so hard. So did I nail her or what?!

These were my other attempts to look like her, but my dad and Bob thought they didn't quite capture her expression like the first one. :)

I can tounge fold! I have often thought that people should be more impressed by that trick than they usually are.

Yes I agree. Though I wonder what percentage of people can do it? I think it has something to do with dominant or recessive traits? Or am I confusing this with something else. I just remember talking about it in Biology in highschool and the whole roomful of people attempting it.

-Hey jlg, does the title of your blog have something to do with Madeleine L'Engle's Crosswick Journals?

I am so excited that you recognized the title of my blog! I love Madeline L'Engle, she is a fairly recent discovery of mine (in the last couple of years) but is one of my favorite authors.

Yeah, you nailed the look. I can fold my tongue too, but I don't have the lambs ears look yet.

I think your lamb's a show-off. It knows not everyone can do it. Or maybe it's one of those that actually got stuck "like that", as our mother's all warn us we will.
